Year 6 - World War One poetry

Lesson: English

Class: Year 6 Year: 2015 - 2016

Year 6 have been studying poetry from World War One in English. They have looked at the use of figurative language from poets such as Siegfried Sassoon and Wifird Owen. They have analysed 'Dulce Et Decorum Est' and then used it as inspiration to create their own poems about the war.

It has helped the children to remember those that suffered in the Great War and they were able to pay their respects at the Remembrance Service on Friday in Billinge.
