School Council

Garswood School Council is ALL about the children.

The school council are voted in by their peers. They elect a chair and a secretary and they decide the important items to discuss with the aim to make changes at school for the better.

We told the school council at Garswood about our website. We asked them to choose the information that they thought would be the most important thing for you to know about them and put it in this web page.

What is the School Council?

The school council listens to the children. They take ideas of what the pupils would like for the school or listen to other pupils concerns. The school council is a great opportunity for pupils to get what they would like for their benefit and also for the school.

Why do we have a School Council?

We have the school council to ensure that children have a voice. All chlidren in the school have the opportunity to share their views and opinions with members of the school council who can then raise any points at regular school council meetings.

Every year new children are voted by their classmates to be on the school council. This means that everybody has a chance to be part of it.

What does the school council do?

The school council works for the school and helps the school get things the children need or want.

What have we achieved?

The school council has achieved many things including raising money for playground equipment, playground toys and many more things. The school council also organise and run the very popular Garswood's Got Talent.
