The Holly and the Ivy

In November and December we read 'The Prickly Hedgehog' in forest school. In the story the hedgehog uses ivy groing up a tree as a foothold to climb. We searched for ivy. We then learned about Holly, ivy and laurel and that they were used for Christmas decoration in the past and today. We collected a variety of leaves. We examined and discussed them. We then made them into decorations and sold them at the school Christmas fair.
