Super Scientists

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 3 Year: 2016 - 2017

This half term Y3 have developed their understanding of how to generate scientific questions and how to plan and set up investigations. We have focused on plants and more specifically, what a seed needs in order to germinate, how seeds disperse and how water travels through a plant.

In groups, the children have planned their own tests, made predictions and recorded the results. The children evaluated their experiments and when it didn't go as they had hoped, they could suggest how they could improve their test to achieve clearer results. Such resilience!

The children have shown great observation skills and have also designed their own recording sheets. They have also demonstrated super group work, ensuring that all of their team had a role to play during the investigations!
