Ooo Arr! Year One's Trip to Farmer Teds.
On Thursday 1st October Year one had a fantastic day out at Farmer Teds. After spending several weeks learning about farms and doing lots of English work based around our text 'Click Clack Moo Cows That Type' we decided to see whether cows really could type.
The sun was shining and the children were very excited. Our day started with a bumpy ride on a tractor around the farm singing our favourite farm songs with Owen the driver. We had to hold on tight as the bumps were really big.
We got to see lots of animals including 9 week old piglets, cows with their calves and ponies.
Some children enjoyed grooming the ponies and stroking guinea pigs as well as cheering on their favourite ferret at the ferret racing.
The highlight of our day though was watching Ethel the cow being milked. She produced 13 litres of milk in 5 minutes. It was fascinating. However, we did learn that the cows at Farmer Teds could not type like Farmer Brown's cows in the story.
