Mathematics Mind Mapping

Lesson: Maths

Class: Year 6 Year: 2017 - 2018

Year 6 have been using all their mathematics knowledge to create mind maps.  we split into 10 groups, a different coloured pen allocated to each group. We decided as a class on ten key mathematics topics we need for SATs revision.  They were....

• Factors,multiples,primes
• Angles
• BODMAS, calcualtions
• Fractions, decimals and percentages
• Statistics
• cubes and squares
• Area and Perimeter
• Translation, symmetry and scale
• Measures
• 2D/3D shapes

Each group got ten minutes to write down their revision ideas and then the paper was rotated and more were added to the sheet by the next group and so on until all groups had contrubuted to each sheet.

It was amazing to see all the fantastic links and ideas Year 6 could generate. Not to mention the fantastic explanations and team work displayed.  Well done Year 6!
