Making our own play dough! What a great idea!

Earlier this week the children decided that they wanted to make their own playdough to use in our dough gym. One of the children suggested that they would need a list of ingredients and some instructions, so Miss Briody was only too happy to assist them using google to find a good recipe.

The children learnt all about their senses and definitely used them when taking part in this activity. The children decided what colour it was going to be by judging how much food colouring to include and what it would smell like by adding some essence from a range we had available. It was a tough choice between peppermint or lemon but the democratic vote went in favour of the peppermint. The children thought it smelt like mouthwash. 

What fun we had collecting, measuring, mixing and stirring to create a super squidgy ball of dough.

The final product was pale blue with a peppermint scent which went down a storm in our classrrom dough gym.
