London
Lesson: History
Class: Year 6 Year: 2025 - 2026
Our Year 6 children recently enjoyed an unforgettable adventure in London, packed with culture, excitement, and magical memories.
They have the opportunity both to learn about the capital city but - also as part of their history curriculum - see the development of entertainment from the early theatre to the West End and all the way to the film studio.
The trip began with a visit to the iconic Shakespeare’s Globe, where pupils stepped back in time to explore the world of theatre and storytelling.
From there, they marvelled at the wonders of science and nature at the Natural History Museum, where dinosaurs, gemstones, and interactive exhibits sparked curiosity and awe.
No trip to London would be complete without taking in the sights — and our flight on the London Eye gave us breathtaking views across the city skyline. This was followed by a relaxing cruise along the River Thames, where children spotted famous landmarks and learned more about the capital’s rich history. Evenings were just as exciting, with visits to feature restaurants and a dazzling night at the West End to see the spectacular musical Wicked. The children were captivated by the performance and the magic of live theatre.
To top it all off, we made a special stop at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter, where pupils were immersed in the wizarding world, exploring sets, props, and behind-the-scenes secrets from the beloved film series. It was a truly memorable trip, full of learning, laughter, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences — a perfect way to celebrate the end of primary school!
