Nursery and Reception had a wonderful time learning about and experiencing a Holi festival. Holi is an important festival to Hindus, as well as to many others. An ancient Hindu religious festival, also known as the festival of colours or the festival of sharing love, in India Holi announces the arrival of spring and the passing of winter.
At Garswood we welcomed a professional Bhangra dancer into school and the children and staff joined in with a superb morning of dance.
Following on from this, just like the traditional Holi celebration, the coming of spring was celebrated - showering each other with bright colored powder and the Reception children did just that, smearing faces of the people they love in colour.
The children had a wonderful time.
