History Comes Alive for Year One!

On Wednesday afternoon, Mrs Ashby from 'Real History' came to make history come alive for the children in Year One. Our challenge curriculum topic for this half term has been all about old and new toys, so on Wednesday we all travelled through a time tunnel and were taken back in time to the Victorian era. Year One dressed up as poor children and were taken on a journey to see what the children would have played with in the olden days. They were astounded at the basic toys that they would have had to play with. Even after having so much fun playing with toys such as spinning tops, rope quoits, wooden skittles and Jacob's ladder the children decided they would much prefer to live in 2015 with their toys now. What a wonderful end to a very interesting topic. We are all looking forward to the next one already.
