Amazing Harry Potter Book Night

Class: Year 3 Year: 2014 - 2015

February 2015

Harry Potter Book Night was a night of celebration for our junior children. Garswood School became Hogwarts Castle for the night!

As soon as they entered Garswood Hogwarts, the children were sorted. The authentic Sorting Hat did a great job and the children joined their houses to find a welcome letter celebrating the qualities of those within their chosen house.

As they sat in the Great Hall  real owls flew over head - a truly amazing sight! Even better was when they had the chance to handle the owls.

Children then had the chance to try their hand at wand making, spell casting and even a game of Quidditch!

Some children chose to stop off at Hogsmead to try some pumpkin juice or butterbeer or even grab some fizzing whizzbees or one of Dumbledore's personal favourites - a lemon sherbet! Luckily the chocolate frogs didn't hop off before the children had a chance to eat them!

The costumes were amazing ranging from Lucius Malfoy to Harry Potter himself. Mrs Chadwick made a great Dolores Umbridge and her decrees were pasted all around the school entrance.

It was an amazing evening and inspired everyone to read or re-read the wonderful Harry Potter books.
