PGL (Positively Great Laugh)

It was an amazing experience once again at PGL this year - the annual residential for Y4 and Y5.

I cannot emphasize enough how proud I am of the children and staff who went along on Wednesday 20th June until Friday 22nd June to PGL, Boreatton Park, Shropshire with Y4 and Y5 children.

The children were excellent - both in terms of their behaviour and attitude and their effort and determination. This year we stayed in Tall Timbers cabins and arrived to begin activities straight away. Year 4 packed their dry bags to head off to get their buoyancy aids on for kayaking and Y5 went off to solve some problems and teamwork activities before harnessing up for the zipwire.

Across the three days the children took part in low ropes; giant swing; problem solving; trapeze; map reading - passport to the world; kayaking and zipwire as well as evening entertainment, chilling in their cabins and playing their own ball games and eating some delicious PGL food (and perhaps a few sweet treats of their own!)

At the end of the holiday we had an award ceremony when we gave some 'alternative awards' - capitalising on the funny events that naturally happen when spending time with 50 children on a residential. Lots of laughter was had across the holiday but moreover - the children were absolutely superb. I was proud to be their head teacher.

We tweeted thoughout the holiday and were delighted that some of our parents tweeted back to say what a great time their child has had. We've uploaded the images (and some additional ones too!) to a gallery on our website.

Watch out for a letter coming soon for our current Y3 and current Y4 about the PGL holiday next year... we're already planning it now!
