Fantastic Formby

Lesson: Geography

Class: Year 2 Year: 2016 - 2017

Y2 had a fantastic day out to Formby beach.  They took part in a strandline investigation where they had to find different objects along the strandline.  They found cockle shells, sea potatoes, crabs and much more.  They took part in a sorting activity and identified manmade and physical objects.  After a delicious lunch in the forest, they then went on a squirrel walk but it was so hot that the squirrels were all hiding in the trees. Back at school, the children enjoyed using identification sheets to identify the different items and sea creatures that they had found. They also used IPads to research and find out facts about the sea creatures.
