Eggciting hatchlings in Year 2!

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 2 Year: 2019 - 2020

Y2 have had a wonderful week: interviewing an expert, observing our 9 eggs hatching and incubating our ‘cracking’ rare breed chicks.  The children have learned so much about life cycles and what animals need to survive.  They have become chick experts in such a short space of time.

We are very proud to help Debs, from  @EggucationDebs, to rear her chicks and support her breeding conservation programme. The children have learnt valuable lessons about conservation and ethical issues. The children are very happy that these chicks will be returned to Debs knowing they will go and live in happiness with her and her team! Debs is from an ethical chick hatching project; she is a Science Teacher & Champion Poultry Breeder who we are very proud to work in partnership with.
