End of School Year 25-26

As we reach the close of another memorable year, we find ourselves reflecting on all that has passed.

For our Year 6 children, this moment marks the end of an era. As they walk up the school path for the final time, emotions naturally run high. Many of them have been with us for seven years—some a little more, some a little less—but all have left a lasting impression. We hope their time here is something they’ll look back on with warmth and pride, and that the memories they’ve made will stay with them for years to come. More importantly, we hope that something in their learning journey has sparked inspiration and will guide them as they take their next steps.

We are incredibly proud of all they’ve achieved but they have each forged their own path and achieved successes in their own right. This year we watched the most amazing performance - we think worthy of the West End - with show stopping performances in their play 'The Wrong Way Round'. The confidence and stage presence shown was spectacular.

As we say goodbye to one group, we welcome the rise of another. Year 5 now step into the role of school leaders—ready to be the bench sitters, house captains, buddies, monitors, and role models. It’s their time to shine, and we’re excited to see all they will accomplish in the year ahead. The journey to becoming our Leavers of 2027 starts now —with a year full of learning and laughter ahead.

At the end of the year we celebrated our core values to be kind, be ambitious and be respectful. We recognised the Citizens of the Year in our Celebration Assembly before awarding our final trophies in our Y6 Leavers' Assembly. What a wonderful opportunity to remember the things that are important and the difference we can make simply with our attitude and approach to life.

Alongside the many activities this half term, we have also welcomed a team of Ofsted inspectors into school. They rang school on 15th June 2026 and announced they would attend school for the following two days. They have made their judgements and their report is currently going through a Quality Assurance process. We hope to have it with us when we return in September. As soon as this is available we will share it with you.

This half term has been nothing short of extraordinary, with children across the school enjoying a huge range of enriching experiences that have taken their learning far beyond the classroom.

Our EYFS children revisited the farm to see how the changing seasons had transformed the produce growing there. They explored the fields, noticed what was ready to harvest, and picked delicious strawberries to take home — a wonderful hands‑on way to understand the world around them.

Across the school, classes have been out discovering new places and new ideas. Children have enjoyed beach adventures, exciting days at the zoo, scientific exploration at the Catalyst Museum, and a chilly afternoon of physical challenge at the Chill Factore. They have also deepened their understanding of different faiths through visits to a church and a Hindu temple, showing curiosity, respect and enthusiasm throughout.

Our Year 6 pupils rounded off their primary years with an unforgettable residential in London, exploring the sights and stories of our capital city. They stepped back in time at Shakespeare’s Globe, learning how theatre has evolved through the centuries, before experiencing the thrill of modern entertainment with a spectacular West End performance of Hercules. Their adventure continued with a magical visit to the Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour, where they explored the sets, props and special effects that brought the wizarding world to life.

And all of this has happened in just one half term.

After school, pupils have thrown themselves into countless clubs, with martial arts and dance proving especially popular (though not at the same time!). Families have joined in too, with Mini‑Chefs offering a brilliant chance for parents to cook alongside their children. Parents have also continued to enjoy their incredible years training, strengthening partnerships and building confidence.

We’ve celebrated Sports Day, complete with good old competitive races and collaborative group activities — a fantastic showcase of teamwork, determination and school spirit.

School reopens on Wednesday 2nd September, and for our new Reception children, on Thursday 3rd September when Nursery also reopens. We’ll be there on the path to help everyone find their new classrooms.
