'Egg'citing Arrival!

Spring has definitely arrived in Y2. We have another fascinating life cycle to observe first hand in our classroom.

The farmer has delivered nine chick eggs for us to incubate and hatch!

Next week we will watch the eggs carefully and hopefully get to see the new chicks emerging from their eggs.

I’m sure we will have visitors (young and old) from around school as the chicks are always a very popular event!

Year 2 will look after the chicks and name them. We will find out key facts about chickens and their life cycle.

I know that Y2 will do a fantastic job at looking after the chicks until they are ready to return to the farmer.

We will keep you updated with their progress!

In the meantime, you could make some predictions:

How many will hatch?

How many will be male?

How many will be female?

Will a male or a female hatch first?

What day will the first one hatch?
