Year 1 trip to Haigh Hall

Today, Year 1 visited the local woodland at Haigh Hall as part of their Science work. We read the story 'Leaf Man' and created our own leaf people to start the morning. Then we went on a very rainy walk identifying trees and plants as we went. The children were so confident in their knowledge of deciduous and evergreen trees and could explain how we could tell the difference. We all create a journey stick collecting natural things from the woodland floor.
