Lesson: Art and design

Class: Year 1 Year: 2022 - 2023

Year 1 have been learning all about colours and painting this term. We have been finding out about primary and secondary colours and learning how to make secondary colours by mixing primary colours together. We have learnt new vocabulary such as 'hue, pigment, shade and tone' and we used these to describe colours we made.

The different ways we have mixed colours have included using playdough, paint and oil pastles. We even made our own paint using pigment from spices and fruit.

We are excited to use our new knowledge to create our own pieces of art next half term.
