Blackpool Zoo

Lesson: Geography

Class: Year 5 Year: 2017 - 2018

Year 5 visited Blackpool zoo to start their geography topic all about the rainforest. We learnt so much about the things the rainforest provides, the animals of the rainforest and the effects of deforestation.

During the day we had the opportunity to handle some rainforest creatures such as giant hissing cockroaches. Some of us were really brave and held them in our hands. However, Mrs Meehan was not so brave.

In the afternoon, we went into 'Amazonia' where we got really close to some tiny rainforest monkeys. Mrs Aldridge got even closer when one jumped onto her coat.

It was a fantastic day with some much hands on learning for all the children.
