Time flies when you're having fun!

I can't believe we are at half term already! Spring is only around the corner and we can already hear some bird song in the mornings.

Since returning from Christmas we've seen a number of activities across the school taking place, not least opening a 2 year old nursery on site! Our new and youngest members of the family have settled in brilliantly. It's fantastic! We welcome more children after half term and more again after Easter! If you are thinking of this for your little one then do contact school to get them signed up and on to the list.

A huge thank you to our Early Years teaching and administrative team who have been pivotal in setting up this wonderful additional provision. I never stop being impressed by the efforts our staff go to. We are so lucky.

Thank you to Y4 and Y6 parents who attended our PGL and London meetings. The planning is underway for these exciting residential holidays. This is all part of our wider offer. We've seen some super off-site visits this half term with Y5 visiting Yorvik Viking museum and the dig as well as. Y2 have been on their Railway visit and travelled on the train and the vintage bus. A survey will be coming out shortly to find out a little more about any other clubs you would like to see offered. Next half term we have - cookery; book club; lego; muscial instrument tuition; choir; judo; dance; netball; football and gardening. Rounders and Mad science will be offered later in the year. Please let us know your thoughts on the survey that we will be posting out to out families.

We have been learning about how to stay safe Reception and Nursery had a visit from emergency services and Y5 attended the St Helens Council Crucial Crew event about safety on the roads and trains. We've also heard from the Garswood Internet Safety Team and learnt within our computing sessions, about how to stay e-safe. I hope some of you took the opportunity to share in e-learning with a parent class also being provided online.

Thank you to our families who attended Chocolate Bingo! It was really well received so we are looking to plan another Bingo event before we finish the academic year. The 'rock-paper-scissors' tie-break events also added an extra excitement to the games. We're thinking of some more ideas to bring the 'go go go' back into our Bingo! We drew the Chocolate raffle today and below you'll see our winner being awarded with their chocolate hamper!

Elders have celebrate their success last half term, in winning the house cup. The chose to have an own clothes or PJ day. This half term the winners were Chestnuts! Congratulations and we look forward to hearing what you decide on for your treat! We also celebrate the attendance awards - with a raffle for those who have attended for 100% of the time and over 97% of the time, this half term. Well done to our lucky raffle winners!

For our families, don't forget we now have Seesaw up and running so you can communicate with the teaching teams much easier. Communication is so important to get the best outcomes for our children. Thank you for working with us!
