Roald Dahl Day ..and beyond!

It's been superb to see so many children engaging with Roald Dahl books this week and really enjoying learning about the splendiferous characters!

With children role playing, debating, discussing, writing, creating artwork - we've seen amazing achievements. We also held a Dahlicious costume parade and enjoyed seeing the amazing efforts and trying to guess the characters.

Friday 16th September was the chance for the children to share their learning with the rest of the school. Each class had the opportunity to showcase their Roald Dahl activities and we saw some impressive work from across each year group. Each class had taken a different focus.

Finally the school council had the difficult decision of choosing their favourite Dream Jar from all of the entries. They were superb. Thank you to everyone who entered and gave up so much time to create them They are on display in our school library. Well done Nathanial in Y1 - a worthy winner of a book voucher. Maybe you'll invest in a Roald Dahl book to enjoy at home!

Tweet us @GarswoodPrimary if your child has been inspired to read Roald Dahl....we'd love to hear from you.
