Exciting Owls

Today Year 1 were lucky enough to have a talk all about nocturnal animals, with owls as a particular focus. Gareth from 'Hawks R Us' talked to us about nocturnal and diurnal owls and how to tell the difference between the two. We learned lots of new vocabulary and information.

We saw a Tawny frog mouthed owl, a tawny owl, a barn owl, a little owl and a huge eagle owl. At the end all the children got to handle a beautiful white barn owl called Daisy. Even Mrs Meehan was brave enough to hold it too.

A very informative afternoon was had by all.
