Y2 1950s

Lesson: History

Class: Year 2 Year: 2018 - 2019

Y2 started the day off with a boogie to 'blue suede shoes' by Elvis Presley.  The rest of the day was filled with wonderful activities to develop their understanding of the 1950s.  The children learned about the art movement 'Pop Art' and created their own repeated picture using bright colours.  They also learned about popular food choices in the 1950s and made bread and butter pudding which they thought was delicious.  In the afternoon they learned how to hand jive and loved acting out the coronation of Queen Elizabeth.  To consolodate their learning they presented an amazing assembly to the rest of the school.  They all did brilliantly and showed off some fab dancing and singing skills.
