Jodrell Bank

Lesson: Science

Class: Year 5 Year: 2017 - 2018

Today, we visited Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre. It was such a fun and informative day out. We all learnt so much and were able to ask some fantastic questions to help us with our science topic.

The day included a hands on science experiment workshop in the morning. During this activity we all investigated the effects of gravity, the effect distance has on the brightness of light, the diameter of craters when objects were dropped from different heights and analysing and sorting rocks. All the children were so enthusiastic and enjoyed reflecting on their results. We can't wait for the work we have done today to be worked upon when we get back into the classroom.

In the afternoon we had the opportunity to experience the inflatable planetarium. WOW! what a great time we had. we were able to look closely at constellations, planets and moons.

Following this we had time to get close to the enormous Lovell telescope and enjoy the exhibitions both indoors and outdoors.
