'Imagine That'

Lesson: Understanding the World

Class: Nursery Year: 2017 - 2018

Nursery had a fantastic day out at 'Imagine That'!

‘Imagine That’ is an Interactive Art and Science Centre situated on Wavertree Technology Park in Liverpool.
During the day children developed their creativity in the Imagination village, construction site and art zone and extended their knowledge and understanding of the world in the science lab and water area.

Imagination Village
We took on a variety of roles in the Imagination Village including:
Pizza Chef, Vet, Hairdresser, Waiter/Waitress, Supermarket Shopper, Till Operator, Car Wash assistant, News Reader, Actor/Actress and Theatre stage hand.

Construction Site
We put on hard hats and hi-viz vests and got to work in the construction site... pushing wheelbarrows, operating cranes and using the pulleys and conveyor belts to move the bricks. We manipulated diggers and other construction tools in the sand area and discovered dinosaur bones hidden in the ground!

Art Zone
We had lots of colourful fun in the art zone. Some children made their our own creations at the craft table, other children preferred to paint on a larger scale, by decorating a real car!

Science Lab.
We explored and experimented in the Science Lab
... discovering lots about wind, electricity, magnets and light.
We made giant bubbles we could fit inside and had fun making flash shadows with our friends. We took part in an interactive science show and even made our own bath bombs.

Water Area
We panned for gold, turned pumps, filled the buckets and had a splashing good time in the water area.
